The thesis presented the understanding and application of “steady state” granulation approach in high shear wet granulation to produce granules that have better control of properties to be used as an oral solid dosage form as opposed to being compressed into tablets in industrial practices. The approach aims to achieve a "steady state" condition that is unachievable in conventional wet granulation processes. Two key operating parameters, liquid delivery rate and wet massing time are adjusted in order to evenly distribute the granulating fluid across the powder system.
